Tips for Choosing and Sending out your Holiday Cards
Whether you decided to send holiday cards out to friends and family or have been given the task of sending out the company’s holiday cards this year, it sounded like a great idea until you saw just how many choices you had, didn’t it?
Following is a list that may make sending Holiday Cards a little easier:
- Select high-quality holiday cards. If you have not seen a sample already from the company you are considering ordering from, consider requesting a sample so you can see the design and card stock before making your selection.
- Order early. It cuts down on stress brought on by the rush of the holidays and heightens the chances that your selected design will still be in stock. Plus, many greeting card companies offer higher discounts if you order earlier in the year.
- Be mindful of your recipients when sending Christmas cards with specific Merry Christmas greetings. If unsure what they celebrate, choose a non-specific greeting and check for any wording on the face of the card.
- Handwritten messages at the bottom of the card, even if something is already printed in them, add a personal touch.
- For business holiday cards, add a logo to your personalized imprint. It’s an inexpensive way to grab the attention of your recipient.
- Upon receiving your holiday greeting card order, examine it for accuracy and quality before storing it away till the holidays. If there are any errors, you can have them corrected immediately and avoid panicking during the holiday rush.
- Get an early start on mailing your cards out: Update your contact list. Write out a few cards each day. Starting in late November, and send them as they’re written and addressed instead of waiting until all are finished.
- Buy stamps early if you want a holiday theme to ensure that the post office won’t run out.
- Keep a Christmas card folder in your files. You can refer to it each year for information such as design, personalization, and quantity ordered, which will make re-ordering next year easy!
With the madness that often accompanies the holiday season, the steps described will make at least one of those annual tasks easy to manage. Good luck choosing that perfect holiday card!
